Saini Sarkar started on the same ramps she now teaches on — nervous, under-coached and figuring out gait, posture and interview composure largely on her own. That gap is what she built SMGA to close. Over more than a decade she has moved from local pageants to the Mrs. India stage, then into professional fashion work across India's premier fashion weeks, picking up a working knowledge of exactly where most aspiring models get stuck.
In 2018 she opened SMGA in Kolkata with a simple premise: teach the walk, the interview and the grooming as rigorously as any other skill — no vague encouragement, no shortcuts, no pretending confidence is something you either have or don't. She has since personally mentored more than 600 students, several of whom now hold state and national titles of their own.
Won her first regional catwalk title in Kolkata, the beginning of a decade-long run through state and national pageants.
Opened Saini Modeling & Grooming Academy's first studio in Salt Lake, Kolkata, with a single batch of eight students.
Crowned Mrs. Kolkata while continuing to run SMGA's growing batches full-time.
Went on to win Mrs. West Bengal and then Mrs. India in the same year, the highest titles of her pageant career.
SMGA crossed 600 students trained across its professional modeling, pageant and personal presence tracks.
Saini personally leads the pageant craft and interview modules in every intensive batch — she has never fully handed off the floor.
